ADA Awareness Day
September 7, 2012An ADA Awareness Day event will be held on Monday, September 10 in S. R. Crown Hall. It is a great opportunity for students to experience what it is like to move around campus while being physically and/or visually impaired, and to try to experience the event's motto: “You can’t really know a person until you walk a mile in their shoes.” -

Architecture Assistant Professor Marshall Brown to Present at MCA’s “Visionary Cities” Symposium
September 5, 2012College of Architecture Assistant Professor Marshall Brown will present at the Museum of Contemporary Art's Visionary Cities symposium on September 22. Visionary Cities is a conference on the state of visionary urbanism featuring noted architects, theorists, and scholars, who debate how to engage the city in the age of extreme urbanization. Tickets are available online. -

Wiel Arets Named Dean of IIT College of Architecture
August 7, 2012Illinois Institute of Technology Provost Alan Cramb announced today the appointment of Wiel Arets as the new dean of the IIT College of Architecture. Born in the Netherlands, Arets, an internationally acclaimed architect, educator, industrial designer, theorist, and urbanist, is known for his academic progressive research and hybrid design solutions. He is currently the professor of building planning and design at the Berlin University of the Arts. -
