    Office of Technology Services has enabled Input Tools for Google Apps that let you write in other languages using phonetic typing and virtual keyboards. Input Tools makes it easy to type in other languages such as Hindi or Chinese.

  • Google+ Important Requirement: Sign Up Using Accurate Birthdate

    As part of your Google Apps for Education at IIT account, you have access to create a Google+ social media page for interacting with other Google+ users on topics of common interest. To create your page, login into Google Apps for Students or Faculty/Staff in myIIT. Once in the Google environment, click the name+ link upper left on the page to get started.

  • Google Groups and Sites Replace myIIT Group Studio

    The myIIT portal launched in January 2007 with a Group Studio feature to encourage communication among students, faculty, and staff over common interest areas. With the university's transition to Google Apps for Education/IIT Gmail, the Group Studio interface in myIIT has been discontinued in favor of Google Groups and Sites.

  • Faculty Opt-In to Early Gmail Migration Now Closed

    Office of Technology Services' recent opportunity for faculty to opt-in for early migration of username@iit.edu accounts to Gmail is now closed. All remaining departments/faculty/staff will receive an e-mail no later than August 24 from the Support Desk with an appointment date for migration.

    Google Apps for Faculty/Staff now defaults to your Google Calendar instead of Docs. When all faculty/staff email accounts are converted to Google Apps/Gmail, the landing page will be changed to Mail as the default landing page.
