SAT Dean Bob Carlson Meets with Former Lithuanian President and IIT Alumnus Valdas Adamkus
December 10, 2012Former Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus (CE ′61, Hon. Ph.D. ′99) met with Bob Carlson, dean of IIT School of Applied Technology, and Nerijus Pacesa, president of ISM University of Management and Economics, in Vilnius, Lithuania, to discuss joint master and bachelor degree offerings with IIT SAT. IIT President John Anderson had been contacted about the possibility of joint programs and Carlson was sent to Lithuania to discuss the details, which included the use of IIT's Distance Learning facilities to deliver some courses from IIT to the Lithuanian campuses. -
IIT Student Team Wins APICS Chicago Case Competition
November 8, 2012Five students from the Industrial Technology and Management (INTM) Program took first place in the 2012 Chicago Case Competition hosted by The Association for Operations Management (APICS) in October. This was the fourth annual competition and the fourth time that the IIT team has won. -
ITM Faculty and Students Work with NENA to Test 911 Emergency Services at IIT Real-Time Communications Lab
October 25, 2012More than 50 vendors and National Emergency Number Association (NENA) representatives gathered to test the interoperability of products supporting an all-IP backbone for the delivery of emergency 9-1-1 services, and in particular support their use by the hearing impaired community, at an event at the IIT Real-Time Communications Lab at Rice Campus. -
Daily Herald Business Ledger’s Newsmakers Forum on Manufacturing and International Business was held on October 4 at the IIT Rice Campus, where a panel including IIT Industry Associate Professor Will Maurer spoke to a crowd of more than 100 suburban business owners and entrepreneurs.
