Join us Wednesday, April 12, at Hermann Hall for a celebration and presentation by Professor Emeritus at the University of Tennessee and an Illinois Tech alum Jack Dongarra, who won the most prestigious award in computing, the 2021 ACM A.M. Turing Award. Jack’s pioneering contributions to numerical algorithms and libraries that enabled high performance computational (HPC) software to keep pace with exponential hardware improvements for over four decades has, through the years, accelerated HPC. He also has appointments with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Manchester. You won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to hear first-hand from one of the giants in the field of computing!
The lecture is 12:45 p.m. in the Hermann Hall Ballroom, followed by a reception at 1:45 p.m. in the Gallery Lounge.
Registration is free here. Please register by Friday, April 7, so that we can plan accordingly for the event.
