Upcoming Extended Maintenance Window and Impacted Services – the Banner Version 9 Upgrade

As you may know, Illinois Tech will be upgrading its system from Banner version 8 to Banner version 9.

This is a major undertaking, involving multiple applications, and it will impact services. Because of the time needed for this initiative, an extended Maintenance Window is necessary to perform the steps required to deploy Banner version 9. The vendor has advised the Office of Technology Services’ staff to execute very specific, step-by-step instructions to enable a successful deployment.

For this deployment, the Extended Maintenance Window hours and impacted services are as follows:

  • From:  Friday, June 22 at 9:15 p.m. to Saturday, June 23 at 7 p.m.
    • Service Interruptions (Outages)
      • Banner
      • Banner Workflow
      • Banner SSB and INB
      • my.iit.edu portal
      • Student account payments via TouchNet
      • Degree Works (Graduate and Undergraduate)
      • AppWorx
      • FormFusion
      • Xtender
      • Custom application servers
      • Access to Google and Google apps via web browser
  • From:  Saturday, June 23 at 6 p.m. to Monday, June 25 at 8:30 a.m.
    • Service Interruptions (Outages)
      • ODS
      • EDW

You will receive a confirmation email when services have been restored, with the exception of the restoration of the ODS/EDW, which will be confirmed on the Systems Status section of the OTS home page. Remember you can always view the Systems Status section of the OTS home page for updates.
