Currently Underway – Extended Maintenance Window for ODS and EDW Upgrade – April 11-14

Illinois Tech is currently performing an important upgrade to the university’s Operational Data Store (ODS) and the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Due to the complexity of this upgrade and the time it will take to deploy it, there are extended maintenance hours—involving outages—outside of Illinois Tech’s normal Maintenance Window. OTS has consulted with key university stakeholders to ensure the impact on the Illinois Tech community will be as minimal as possible in this expanded maintenance period.

The extended Maintenance Window for the ODS/EDW upgrade began on April 11 at 6:15 p.m. and will continue through Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. Some Illinois Tech services will not be available for specific, short periods of time, while the necessary work is being done.

Impacted Services (i.e., outages) include the following:

  • ODS/EDW
  • Cognos
  • Any additional applications that utilize data from the ODS

In addition to the above-referenced impacted services related to the ODS/EDW upgrade, there will be additional upgrades/patches, etc. performed during the normal weekly Maintenance Window, i.e., 9:15 p.m. on Friday through 11 a.m. on Saturday. The systems on which the Office of Technology Services will be working during the normal Maintenance Window will be communicated in the regular weekly email sent to the Illinois Tech community.

Thank you for your patience while we perform this important maintenance.
