Women’s History Month Community Service Event

March is Women’s History Month, a time where we reflect on the women who have made an impact in the world, and examine issues that affect women’s lives. MEDLIFE, the American Medical Student Association of IIT, and The Office of Spiritual Life, Diversity, and Service invite you to support the homeless women in our community.

A drive to collect food and feminine hygiene products will take place through Tuesday, March 31. Boxes will be set up at the entrance of MSV, Keating, and Office of Campus Life Suite, Room 212.

There is also an online food drive. Donations can be made by clicking here.

This drive is public, so anyone can donate. Participants can “shop” for items by picking and donating certain foods – which is a great way to donate fresh food like fruits and vegetables – or monetary donations can be made as well.

Those donating through the online drive are also encouraged to form teams. A maximum of 35 teams can formed on the website. Teams can be athletic teams, sororities, fraternities, departments, student organizations, etc. People can even form their own teams on the website if they have no campus affiliation. The team with the most donations will receive a special thank you prize.

This event reflects the values expressed in IIT’s Diversity Statement and is intended to promote diversity at IIT.
