Work of Office of Technology Services (OTS) Staff Members Nationally Recognized

Illinois Tech received an honorable mention at ACUTA ‘s 2017 Institutional Excellence in Information Technology award ceremony in March for the incredible work done by the Office of Technology Services’s (OTS) Enterprise Systems’ Project Management Office (PMO) and the Enterprise Steering Governing (ESG) Committee, comprising upper-level Illinois Tech leaders, in developing and implementing a workflow process that ensures the most pressing IT needs of the Illinois Tech community are realized.

Enterprise Systems’ PMO office includes Manager Jackie Anderson, Andre Schmidt, Brett Freiberg, Anthony Atkinson, as well as former Manager Sara Sadat and is led by OTS Director Vince Battista. ACUTA, the Association for College and University Technology Advancement, which is an international educational association serving more than 500 colleges and universities, gave praise to the PMO office and the ESG Committee for their “outstanding achievement.” This national award, given annually, recognizes excellence and professionalism in information technology and involves a rigorous, two-round evaluation process.

Battista commented, “I am excited to see the work of our Enterprise Systems’ staff recognized in this way. The PMO staff, the ESG, and all the Enterprise Systems’ staff members working on the projects that will most benefit the university’s students, faculty, and staff is a responsibility we never take lightly.”

In addition, ACUTA presented the Bill D. Norris Award to OTS Director Eric Breese. The Bill D. Norris Award is bestowed upon the ACUTA member who embodies the spirit, vigor, and guidance of one of the organization’s eminent former presidents. Eric, a member of ACUTA for more than 15 years and chair of ACUTA’s Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee, was recognized for “his resourcefulness, exemplary leadership, and unwavering dedication” to the association.
