YEAR-END PAYROLL DATES

Please share this important information with those employees who report to you.

The Payroll Office will be closed from Friday December 24, 2021, through January 2, 2022. Payroll will reopen on Monday January 3, 2022. Employees will be paid according to the following schedule:
MONTHLY PAYROLL – All employees paid on a monthly basis with direct deposit will have their accounts posted on Friday December 31, 2021.
BIWEEKLY PAYROLL – All employees paid on a biweekly basis will be paid for the period of December 12, 2021, through December 25, 2021, on Friday, December 31, 2021.
Due to the Christmas Holiday, time sheets for the period of 12-12-21 through 12-25-21 for pay date of 12-31-21 MUST be submitted by 10 a.m. on Monday 12-20-21 and approved no later than 4 p.m.
Hours worked and recorded on the time sheet for the pay period of December 12, 2021 through December 25, 2021 should be estimated and can be adjusted on the following pay period if needed.

HOLIDAY SHUTDOWN AND TIME RECORDING

December 24, 2021 and December 31, 2021 are national holidays. Eligible non-exempt (hourly) employees who are required to work on December 24th, and December 31st will be paid for the hours worked plus an additional ½ time for working on the holiday for a total of 1 ½ times their hourly pay rate.

December 27, 28, 29, & 30, 2021 are university holidays. Non-exempt (hourly) employees who are required to work on any of these days must record that time as hours worked on the timesheet. Non-exempt employees will be paid at their regular hourly rate for work performed on December 27, 28, 29, and 30th of December.

Non-exempt and exempt employees, who work December 24, 2021 and December 31, 2021, may take a floating holiday for each day worked with the approval of the supervisor; provided that the floating holiday is used between December 1, 2021 and January 31, 2022. Floating holidays issued for this purpose that are not taken by January 31, 2022 will be forfeited. There will be no exceptions.

As a reminder, nonexempt employees must record all hours worked on the timesheet and any hours worked over 40 in the work week will be compensated at 1 ½ times the employee’s regular hourly rate.
