  • ARPA-E Awards IIT and Argonne team $3.4 M for Breakthrough Battery Technology

    Duchossois Leadership Professor of Physics Carlo Segre has received a $3.4 million award from the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop a breakthrough battery technology that may more than double the current range of electric vehicles (EV), increase safety, reduce costs and simplify recharging.

    Take Precaution in Workspaces During Extreme Heat

    A special message from the IIT Office of Facilities and Public Safety: With extreme temperatures, the capacity of IIT's air-conditioning systems on campus has been pushed to the limit. There may be instances where interior space is not sufficiently cool. If your workspaces become too warm, please move to a cooler location, avoid strenuous work, take breaks, and drink water. This OSHA link provides further guidance for avoiding heat-related illness in the workplace.

You can visit the show, Sally Ko: Pouring it Out, in the Kemper Room, located on the second floor of Paul V. Galvin Library from August 12–September 29.
