    Read on Spring Break: Books to Talk About

    Plan to engage in a lively discussion at Paul V. Galvin Library in celebration of both Women's History Month and the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf. Dreams of Trespass: Tales of a Harem Girlhood by Fatima Mernissi and The Butterfly Mosque: A Young American Woman's Journey to Love and Islam by G. Willow Wilson are the books that will be featured. One reflects the life of a girl born in Morocco in the 1940s, while the other is a recent account of a young woman's conversion and travels.

  • Associate Professor of Physics Jeff Terry Gives Colloquium at Columbia University

    Jeff Terry, associate professor of physics, gave the Material Science and Engineering Colloquium at Columbia University. His talk, titled “Synchrotron Radiation Studies of Advanced Nuclear Energy Materials,” focused on the application of synchrotron techniques to measure the electronic structure and the nano- and meso-scale geometric structure of materials of interest to the nuclear community.
