    The Social Sciences Department will host the Benjamin Franklin Project Distinguished Lecture, “Democracy and the Built Environment,” on Tuesday, February 26, 7:00 pm, in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center Auditorium. The event will feature Peter Onuf, Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professor of History at the University of Virginia, and Marshall Brown, assistant professor of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

    32nd Street Visitor Parking Entrance Detour

    The entrance of the A4 parking lot at 32nd & State is closed through March 1, 2013 to facilitate the installation of a solar canopy for electric vehicle charging stations. Visitors and permit holders should enter and proceed to A4 from the A3 parking lot entrance at 31st & Wabash. The south paystation will be accessible during this time.

    Paul and Suzi Schutt Endowed Chair in Science and a fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) John Zasadzinski will chair a session at a meeting of the American Physical Society (APS) in Baltimore, Md. on March 18. The session title is “Superconductivity: Tunneling Phenomena.”

    On Monday, February 25 the MMAE Department, Physics Department and the Office of Admissions will be sponsoring the 38th Annual Chicago Regional Bridge Building Contest. Created by IIT alumnus Roy Coleman, this event draws high school students from the entire Chicago metropolitan region to see who can build the most efficient bridge.
