    Maximum Transit and Parking Benefits Increased for 2013

    On January 11, the Internal Revenue Service announced the annual inflation adjustments for 2013, which states that the combined transit/vanpool limit is $245 per month and the pre-tax parking limit is also $245 per month. This means employees can set aside up to $490 per month for combined transit/vanpool and parking benefits. Visit the member portal at www.healthhub.com to update your commuter elections.

    2013 Social Security Rate Increase and First Paycheck

    The Social Security tax rate increase to 6.2% applies to all wages paid in 2013, even if a portion of the wages were earned in 2012. As a result, all wages earned for the period December 23, 2012 through January 5, 2013 but paid in 2013 is subject to the 6.2% rate.
