A new study in Clinical Gerontologist showing that elderly suffering from depression are the most vulnerable to fraud, conducted by Wayne State University’s Institute of Gerontology, was conducted in collaboration with IIT’s College of Psychology, UPI reports. Psychology graduate student Laurie Stickney is co-author of the study.

SmallRoom Presents: Pawel Kupiec; Opening Reception this Wednesday
April 29, 2013SmallRoom is hosting a new exhibition with Chicago artist Pawel Kupiec! This show is a little different from previous SmallRoom exhibits, and gives the space a new atmosphere. An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, May 1 from 12 - 1:30 pm in the Kemper Room on the second floor of the Paul V. Galvin Library. -

BME Student Bin Jiang Wins Sigma Xi Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship
April 29, 2013The Office of Research announces Bin Jiang, graduate doctoral student in biomedical engineering, as recipient of the 2013 Sigma Xi Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship in the student division. Her research activities are supported by government and industry, and she focuses her work in the areas of: design and evaluation of thermo-responsive wound dressings; development of dual drug delivery microspheres; and tissue engineering hydrogels for vascularized tissue formation. -
Psychology Professor Ron Landis Publishes Research Methods Book

Cortina) Modern Research Methods for the Study of Behavior in Organizations (Routledge Academic, 2013). International Bridge Building Contest this Saturday
April 26, 2013Students from high schools throughout the world will compete in the 2013 International Bridge Building Contest on IIT's main campus on Saturday, April 27 in Siegel Hall Auditorium. The contest, which promotes the study and application of fundamental principles physics, allows high school students to gain "hands-on" experience in what it is to be an engineer and challenges students to design, construct and test the most efficient model bridge within specifications.
