Faculty, RSVP for Commencement, to Be Held May 13 at McCormick Place
March 16, 2023In a shift from past practices for Commencement, the 2022-2023 Main Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 9 a.m. at McCormick Place, Hall B. College Ceremonies will follow the Main Ceremony and also will take place in McCormick Place, Hall B. This year there will be two combined College Ceremonies where degrees will be conferred for three of the university’s colleges. Ph.D. hooding also will take place during the College Ceremonies, with faculty advisers having the usual opportunity to hood their graduates. -
Deadline Approaching to Complete Commencement Ceremony Response Form
February 14, 2023A final reminder to all students who are eligible to graduate in fall 2022, spring 2023, or summer 2023 (undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D.): Friday, February 17, 2023, is the last day to submit your Ceremony Response Form for our 2022–23 Illinois Tech Commencement Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, May 13, at McCormick Place Convention Center. -

January 5, 2023Students who are graduating this year are encouraged to apply to speak at Commencement. To be considered, please submit a copy of your resume and a draft of the speech you would like to present to Jackie McGhee in the Dean of Students Office at jmcghee@iit.edu by Friday, March 17, 2023. -
Submit Your Nominations for Commencement Speaker, Who Will Receive Honorary Degree, by December 2
November 22, 2022The Office of the Provost is now accepting nominations for the recipient of an honorary degree that will be presented at Commencement in May 2023. The recipient will also speak at the Commencement ceremony. -
Volunteers Needed for PhD Hooding Ceremony
April 21, 2022We are looking for greeters, ushers, assistants with regalia, and staff at the registration table. Approximate time of service requested would be from 1:30-6:30, along with a brief orientation a few days before the event. -
Volunteers Needed to Help with Stuart School of Business Commencement
April 19, 2022We are looking for dedicated individuals to assist with the Stuart School of Business ceremony from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14. Volunteers will receive a light breakfast, lunch, and a volunteer T-shirt, but this is not a paid position. -

Commencement Update: Virtual Grad Salute Details Now Available
March 15, 2021Illinois Tech is hosting a virtual Graduate Salute for graduates who are interested in purchasing caps, gowns, tassels, diploma frames, alumni gear, or class rings. The university did not charge the graduation fee in the fall 2020 semester or the spring/summer 2021 semesters. Graduates are welcome to purchase any items they would like to help them celebrate this milestone achievement. -
