IIT Boeing Scholars Present Leadership Project at TEDxWindyCity
February 28, 2013More than 650 people came together at the Northwestern University School of Law on February 23 for this year’s sold-out TEDxWindyCity event, which featured an all-star line-up of a couple dozen dynamic and paradigm-shifting innovators, researchers, artists and others, representing the brightest minds in Chicago. It’s not inconsequential that there were only two high school students as presenters—our very own IIT Boeing Scholars Katie Gohres and Andrew Kelo, both seniors at Walter Payton College Prep! -

Now Hiring – Summer Positions Teaching Diverse, High-Achieving IIT Boeing Scholars Academy Students
January 31, 2013The IIT Boeing Scholars Academy* is hiring six full-time Program Instructors for summer 2013 (weekdays June 10-August 1, 8am-4:30pm)! The Program Instructor position is especially well-suited for an advanced undergraduate or graduate student in a STEM-related field, with interest in urban education issues and working with high school students. Apply by February 18. -
IIT Boeing Scholars Academy to Host “Creating the Future: Majors and Careers in Technology Innovation”
December 12, 2012This fall, kCura honored the IIT Boeing Scholars Academy with their Geek Grant, a $2,500 award in recognition of “incredible service supporting education and technology in Chicago.” The Academy will use a portion of the funds to host a free public event to introduce IIT Boeing Scholars and other local high school students to various majors and careers in technology areas. “Creating the Future: Majors and Careers in Technology Innovation” will take place in the MTCC’s McCloska Auditorium on Tuesday, January 8 from 6:00–8:00 pm. -
