  • IIT Magazine Online Exclusive: A Birder’s Delight

    Each spring and fall, IIT Main Campus bird aficionados flock to an early morning escorted walk that showcases the remarkable variety of feathered creatures that frequent this urban environment. The walk is led by Geoffrey Williamson, professor and interim chair, IIT Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, along with David Baker, vice president of external affairs. This spring's walk was held on May 14.

  • Winter 2013 IIT Magazine Available for Students

    They’re hot off the press! A limited number of copies of the winter 2013 edition of IIT Magazine are available in various Main Campus locations. This issue features photos of Chicago—“Their Kind of Town”—taken by IIT students and articles on citizen-architect Katherine Darnstadt (ARCH ’05), Senator Kwame Raoul (LAW ’93) and record-holding distance-swimmer Ted Erikson (CHE ’52, M.S.   • IIT Magazine Online Exclusive: Spring Has Sprung at S. R. Crown Hall

    Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's S. R. Crown Hall is a Chicago Landmark, a National Historic Landmark, and on the National Register of Historic Places. The iconic building is also home to IIT College of Architecture, a classroom for studio projects, and a showcase for student exhibits at the annual spring Open House, which draws hundreds of visitors. For this slideshow feature, IIT photographers captured projects that students worked on and displayed in Crown Hall, Mies van der Rohe's "home for ideas and adventures."
