The Oyez Project Chosen As a Winner of the Knight News Challenge on Open Gov
July 1, 2013The public will soon be able to explore and understand the work of the supreme courts of America's five largest states as never before, with support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The Oyez Project at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law was one of eight projects chosen as a winner of the Knight News Challenge on Open Gov, which focused on tools that improve the way citizens and governments interact. -
The archive of U.S. Supreme Court audio, available through the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law’s Oyez Project, is receiving coverage from national media outlets.

NPR reports that audio of US Supreme Court oral arguments dating back to 1955 is now available from The Oyez Project at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, and that the project recently launched an iOS app and will release one for Android this summer.

IIT Chicago-Kent’s Institute on the Supreme Court of the United States Releases Materials on Upcoming Same-Sex Marriage Cases
March 26, 2013IIT Chicago-Kent's Institute on the Supreme Court of the United States (ISCOTUS) and its Oyez Project have produced materials related to two same-sex marriage cases to coincide with the U.S. Supreme Court's hearings March 26 and 27 of Hollingsworth v. Perry, a challenge to California's Proposition 8, and United States v. Windsor, a challenge to the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). -
The New York Times Caucus Blog points out that many recordings of US Supreme Court arguments are available online from the Oyez Project, a multimedia archive of court materials at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Thompson Reuters reported that the Oyez Project at IIT Chicago-Kent published a list of the longest Supreme Court arguments since 1995, comparing them to the six hours of argument granted for the challenges to the health care reform law.
