In Conversation with Carole Segal: A Design Pioneer
February 5, 2026Join the Institute of Design at 6–8 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, to celebrate the trailblazing work of design leader Carole Segal, serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Crate & Barrel. A limited number of paid tickets are available to enjoy a conversation between Segal and her friend Eric Larson, co-founder, chairman, and co-CEO of Tilia Holdings. Proceeds will support scholarships at ID. -

January 8, 2026This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Illinois Tech is grateful to continue its collaboration with Organic Oneness, commemorating Dr. King with a day of service at DuSable High School on January 19, 2026. Service locations have been expanded for 2026, and we need 40 volunteers for various activities, including mural painting, assembling blessing bags for the homeless, organizing spaces, and beautifying Chicago Public Schools in Bronzeville. Winter Break Energy Conservation Actions
December 12, 2025Illinois Tech spends an average of over $700,000 per month on energy. Winter break is an excellent opportunity to reduce that cost and conserve dollars that can be used for other needs. Just a 10 percent reduction in energy use while we’re on break can save tens of thousands of dollars, enough to provide substantial savings for the university during a normally high energy usage time of year. -

Indiana Church Designed by Illinois Tech Alumnus Makes National Registry
