    University Regent and treasured philanthropist, Madison “Al” Self died on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the age of 91. Al is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lila, and was preceded in death recently by his son, Murray.

    The Bruce M. Kohen Courtroom at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law will be dedicated at a public reception on January 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the law school's Lewis Collens Atrium, 565 West Adams Street (between Clinton and Jefferson streets) in Chicago.

  • Reminder: CTA to Close South Red Line for Repairs in Spring of 2013

    The Chicago Transit Authority announced plans this week to shut down 10 miles of track and nine stations on the south Red Line, from the Cermak-Chinatown stop all the way to 95th Street, for five months starting in spring 2013. During the closure, the 40+ year-old tracks will be replaced on the line to eliminate "slow zones" and allow the use of new 5000-Series ‘L’ cars.
