Mandatory myIIT Password Rotation Begins January 28
January 22, 2013Proper password management is very important to keeping personal and work information secure. To maintain a secure computing environment, IIT will be instituting a password rotation procedure that requires users to change their myIIT password at a minimum of once a year. -
State Street Construction Update
January 22, 2013ComEd is in the process of running a new transmission line from south of Main Campus to Chicago’s Loop. This new line is being installed in the west lane of northbound traffic on State Street. The current stage of the project, occupying a traffic lane and the median just north of 31st and State streets, is expected to reach completion in approximately two weeks. A second vault will be installed at 34th and State Streets with work beginning Thursday, January 24. -
University Regent M. Al Self, 1921-2013
January 22, 2013University Regent and treasured philanthropist, Madison “Al” Self died on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the age of 91. Al is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lila, and was preceded in death recently by his son, Murray. -

Reminder: CTA to Close South Red Line for Repairs in Spring of 2013
January 21, 2013The Chicago Transit Authority announced plans this week to shut down 10 miles of track and nine stations on the south Red Line, from the Cermak-Chinatown stop all the way to 95th Street, for five months starting in spring 2013. During the closure, the 40+ year-old tracks will be replaced on the line to eliminate "slow zones" and allow the use of new 5000-Series ‘L’ cars. -
