Galvin Library for A Closer Look at the Million Dollar Sermon, a PowerPoint presentation with accompanying live narration by the University Archivist and Campus Historian Mindy Pugh, anchored on documentary evidence about the Rev. Frank Gunsaulus’ sermon and the founding of the Armour Institute of Technology (and by extension, Illinois Tech). It seeks to inform the present university community about what is known—and what might never be known—about a sermon whose impact is undoubted but which also merits further investigation.

    Nominations Open for Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Award

    The Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs is now accepting nominations for the Lincoln Academy of Illinois Student Laureate Award. This award honors an outstanding senior from each of the four-year degree granting institutions of higher learning in Illinois. Student Laureates are honored for their overall excellence in curricular and co-curricular activities. The student must be a senior with no less than a 3.0 cumulative and major grade point average.

    Illinois Tech CyberHawks Win Regional Championship

    On Saturday, April 1, students from Illinois Institute of Technology’s cybersecurity student organization, CyberHawks, won the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE) Cyber Games Midwestern Regional 2. The CyberHawks faced off against nine teams from eight other universities and surpassed their previous top score at last year’s Midwestern Regional and National Championships.
