ChiByrd Hosts Pop-Up Takeover at Absurd Bird Station
April 7, 2026On Wednesday, March 25, ChiByrd, from our local partner Foodville, took over the Absurd Bird station on campus, offering students and faculty a chance to sample its signature menu items and learn more about the ChiByrd concept. The one-day takeover served as a test run to gauge interest and collect feedback from the Illinois Tech community before considering ChiByrd as a permanent dining option. -

April 7, 2026The Illinois Tech community is invited to the 2026 Ralph Peck Lecture on Thursday, April 23, at 3:15–4:30 p.m. in the Perlstein Hall Auditorium (room 131). Victor M. Zavala, Baldovin-DaPra Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, will present the lecture, titled “From Molecules to Supply Chains: Transforming Data to Decisions Using Geometry, Optimization, and Machine Learning.” -
