College of Architecture Hosting 2024 Pritzker Prize Laureate Lecture and Panel Discussion at Crown Hall on Thursday
May 14, 2024The Pritzker Architecture Prize and Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture, in partnership with the Chicago Architecture Center, present Community: The Architect as Catalyst for Change, the 2024 Laureate Lecture and Panel Discussion, taking place at the university’s historic S.R. Crown Hall on Thursday, May 16th at 6:00pm CDT. Riken Yamamoto, 2024 Laureate of the Pritzker Prize, will uncover his personal journey in the discovery of communities throughout the world, inspiring his socially-driven architecture that blurs the boundaries between public and private dimensions. -

Devon Henry, Franklin Cosey-Gay, and Makeba Kedem DuBose will discuss how memory and representation have expanded the narrative about the built environment. Together, we will enjoy live piano performance by acclaimed VanderCook College of Music faculty and musicians, Olivia and Yang, and dance recital by Alberto Velazquez and Amanda Assucena, world-renowned artists from Joffrey Ballet. -

March 7, 2023The College of Architecture welcomes the public to the 2023 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize, a biennial ceremony recognizing the excellence of built works in the Americas. Six finalists from across the continent will showcase their projects at a symposium on March 24 at 2 p.m. at S. R. Crown Hall. A private award ceremony and dinner will follow at 7:30 p.m., where the winner will be announced.
