    Electronic Waste Collection Days at IIT

    March 12, 2012
    IIT will host three electronic waste collection days in March. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to bring unwanted electronic devices on Wednesday March 14, Thursday March 15 and Saturday March 31 to be recycled in an environmentally responsible manner. All electronics will be recycled domestically in an by certified e-waste recycler Universal Recycling Technologies, Inc.

  • Recyclemania Efforts Continue at IIT

    IIT students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to continue to step up their recycling habits, especially during this year's Recyclemania competition! Over the past week, we've exceeded our baseline recycling ratio to trash, but we have a ways to go in order to work up to our goal of 45%.

  • Help IIT Become Illinois’ #1 Recycler in Recyclemania Competition

    February 5 marked the start of Recyclemania, an eight-week competition among universities in the United States and Canada to see who can recycle the most (by volume and per capita). IIT placed second in the state of Illinois in 2011 and we are looking to take the top spot this time around.

    The IIT Office of Campus Energy and Sustainability will hold the first Campus Sustainability Forum of the spring semester from 12 - 1:30 pm on Friday, January 27 in the MTCC Ballroom. The topic of this months forum is, “Consumer Choice vs. Government Policy: Which is more effective to get businesses to act socially and environmentally responsible?"
