    Reducing Printing at IIT

    Beginning this fall, free printing credits are being reduced to 250 per semester. The credits will continue to roll over between semesters until the end of the summer term when all accounts are wiped and reloaded with fresh print credits for the fall. Free print credits do not represent actual money, but if students need, they can add their own funds for additional printing.

  • Changes on the way for Blackboard @ IIT!

    IIT Online has been working closely with OTS as the university upgrades our learning management system (LMS) to its new version, Blackboard 9.1. Faculty access and orientation to the new version will begin this September. The new version will become the live system for students and courses with the spring 2013 semester.

    The Office of Technology Services is offering faculty and staff a second opportunity to opt-in for early migration of your username@iit.edu account to Gmail ahead of your department's mass migration. The new Gmail accounts offer several benefits, including more storage and integration with Google Apps.

  • OTS Introducing Secure Wireless on Main Campus

    The Office of Technology Services is in the process of upgrading the wireless infrastructure on Main Campus to a faster and more robust wireless standard known as Wireless N or 802.11n. As this new network, “IIT-WiFi,” is being rolled out on campus, OTS will also introduce secure wireless. The “IIT-Secure” connection will be activated on Friday, June 15, making secure wireless available in Wireless N enabled buildings on Main Campus.

    As the university completes migration of IIT email accounts and calendaring to Gmail and Google Apps for Education, the calendar that is default in myIIT Group Studio will be disabled. Group owners who wish to keep communication active among members should recreate their group in Google Apps for Education.
