    MMAE Grad Student Wins MAGS Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award

    MMAE graduate student Amirhossein Arzani recently won the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award. This award recognizes and rewards distinguished scholarship and research at the master’s level. To be considered, a thesis must contain original work that makes an unusually significant contribution to the discipline. Arzani won a $750 cash prize and traveled to present his work at the MAGS Annual Meeting in Minneapolis in early April.

    IIT Students Take Four “GEN 10” Awards for Excellence in Scientific research

    Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News (GEN) announced its “GEN 10” Award winners at the BIO International Convention in Chicago last week, honoring ten Chicago graduate students and postdocs for for excellence in scientific research, four of whom study at Illinois Institute of Technology: Konstantin Andreev, Arathi Jayaraman, Sun Kim, and Stephanie Kunkel.

    Spring 2013 IPRO Day Winners

    Friday, April 26, 2013 marked the culmination of the fall semester’s Interprofessional projects (IPRO). More than 55 teams exhibited and presented their semester-long work. Dedicated panels of workplace professionals faculty and graduate students spent the day judging the IPRO Projects, and voted on the best exhibits and presentations.

  • VanderCook Flower Sale

    VanderCook will host a flower sale on Saturday, May 11 from 8 am - 2 pm at the college's building at 3125 S. Federal. There will be annuals in hanging baskets, flats, pre-arranged patio pots and more for sale. There will also be food trucks stopping by throughout the morning as well as a Community Drum Circle at 11 am.

    SmallRoom is hosting a new exhibition with Chicago artist Pawel Kupiec! This show is a little different from previous SmallRoom exhibits, and gives the space a new atmosphere. An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, May 1 from 12 - 1:30 pm in the Kemper Room on the second floor of the Paul V. Galvin Library.

    BME Student Bin Jiang Wins Sigma Xi Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship

    The Office of Research announces Bin Jiang, graduate doctoral student in biomedical engineering, as recipient of the 2013 Sigma Xi Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship in the student division. Her research activities are supported by government and industry, and she focuses her work in the areas of: design and evaluation of thermo-responsive wound dressings; development of dual drug delivery microspheres; and tissue engineering hydrogels for vascularized tissue formation.

  • Psychology Professor Ron Landis Publishes Research Methods Book

    Ronald S. Landis, Nambury S. Raju Professor of Psychology, recently published the co-edited book (with Jose M. Cortina) Modern Research Methods for the Study of Behavior in Organizations (Routledge Academic, 2013). The book is part of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Frontiers Series.

    Twelve members of IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law's Class of 2013 have been named to the Bar and Gavel Society. Each year, IIT Chicago-Kent's Student Bar Association inducts into the society graduating seniors who have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to the law school, the community and the legal profession.
