The Annual Gamma Nu Eta National Convention Held at IIT
April 11, 2013IIT’s Beta Chapter of Gamma Nu Eta hosted the Gamma Nu Eta national convention at IIT’s Main Campus on Friday, April 5 - Sunday, April 7. Gamma Nu Eta is a National Information Technology Honor Society, and was founded to recognize and promote excellence in the study and the leadership of information technology, to offer knowledge and services to members' schools and the surrounding communities, and to play an active role in the application and evolution of Information Technology within society. -
IIT Shuttlebus Detour
April 11, 2013Due to ongoing construction on State Street, the Southbound MTCC stop at 33rd & Wabash will be temporarily relocated to Michigan Avenue at 33rd Street effective Monday, April 15. The bus will then proceed to IIT Tower via Michigan Avenue & 35th Street. A follow up announcement will be issued once the detour is no longer needed. Please direct questions to shuttlebus@iit.edu. -
Physics to Hold Joint Meeting with American Nuclear Society April 17 at IIT
April 11, 2013The American Nuclear Society Chicago Local Section and the IIT Department of Physics will hold a joint meeting on Wednesday, April 17, at 6:30 pm in LS 111. Jeff Terry, associate professor of physics, will present the lecture, “Synchrotron Radiation Studies of Advanced Nuclear Energy Materials.” Terry’s talk will focus on the application of synchrotron techniques to measure the electronic structure and the nano- and meso-scale geometric structure of materials of interest to the nuclear community. The methods that have been used to handle radioactive materials safely at synchrotron radiation facilities will also be discussed. -

April 11, 2013On April 10 INTM adjunct Dan Tomal was the keynote speaker for the Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA),their quarterly meeting held at the Itasca Country Club. He presented an overview of the programs of the School of Applied Technology and especially focused on the industrial facilities specialization, designed for people in the electrical construction field. -

April 10, 2013Join the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering for the 2013 Ralph Peck Lecture and the Excellence in Teaching Awards and Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony on Monday April 15 from 3:15–4:30 pm in Perlstein Hall Auditorium. The Peck Lecture will be presented by Purdue University's G. V. "Rex" Reklaitis, Courtesy Professor of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy and Edward W. Comings Professor of Chemical Engineering. A reception will immediately follow the lecture in Perlstein Hall lobby. -
