  • 2013 Ralph Peck Lecture

    Join the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering for the 2013 Ralph Peck Lecture and the Excellence in Teaching Awards and Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony on Monday April 15 from 3:15–4:30 pm in Perlstein Hall Auditorium. The Peck Lecture will be presented by Purdue University's G. V. "Rex" Reklaitis, Courtesy Professor of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy and Edward W. Comings Professor of Chemical Engineering. A reception will immediately follow the lecture in Perlstein Hall lobby.

    Architecture Faculty to Present at APA Conference in Chicago

    IIT College of Architecture faculty members Marshall Brown and Mary Pat Mattson will present on the panel "Urban Design, Urban Landscape, Urban Plan," at this year's American Planning Association (APA) Conference on Monday, April 15 in downtown Chicago. The focus of the panel will be the intersection of various design disciplines on visions of the city. Relationships between design pedagogy and design practice will be explored among the presentations.

    Matthew Lechowick (M.Arch ’07) will be showcasing his furniture and product designs at Salone Satellite 2013. Lechowick was selected as one of five designers representing the United States and one of 121 designers worldwide to showcase his designs at this year's prestigious trade fair in Milan, Italy, April 9-14.

  • Segerstrale Publishes “Nature’s Oracle”

    Ullica Segerstrale, professor of sociology and director of the Camras Scholars program, has published Nature’s Oracle: The Life and Work of W.D. Hamilton. She will give a lecture, “The Edge of Creativity: A Look at the Scientific Life of W.D. (Bill) Hamilton,” with reception and book-signing at IIT on May 2 from 3:15-4:50 p.m. in Perlstein Hall Auditorium.

  • IIT Team Advances to Global Final in Idea to Product Competition

    On April 6, four teams of IIT students competed in the Idea to Product (I2P) Regional Competition in St. Louis, MO. The IIT teams competed against twelve teams from the Midwest and swept the field, with all four IIT teams making up the final four in the competition.

The award is bestowed posthumously on an individual who has recently passed away and who, during his or her life, achieved personal success, made an outstanding contribution to his or her chosen field of endeavor, and achieved recognition by his or her colleagues.
