  • The 10th Annual Sidney A. Guralnick Excellence in Teaching and Scholarship Awards Luncheon and Lecture

    Join other members of the IIT community for the 10th Annual Sidney A. Guralnick Excellence in Teaching and Scholarship Awards Luncheon and Lecture. This year's event will feature Richard Kristie, PE, SE, principal at Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc., speaking on "The Repair of Holy Name Cathedral." The event will be held on Friday, April 26 at Maggiano's Little Italy, Wine Cellar Room, 516 North Clark Street in Chicago. Individual tickets are available for $50 and sponsorships for a table of eight are available for $600.

    IIT School of Applied Technology Reaccredited for IACET CEUs

    IIT School of Applied Technology (SAT) has been reaccredited as an Authorized Provider of IACET CEUs. This prestigious accreditation demonstrates SAT’s commitment to high-quality lifelong learning. IACET is the International Association for Continuing Education and Training and CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are important for professionals in recertification. The accreditation period extends for five years and includes all programs offered or created during that time.

    “In the Loop” with Lucas Graves, Disruptive by Design: Fact-Checking in the News

    Multiple fact-checking organizations have emerged in the United States over the last decade, groups which use trained staff and dedicated resources to assess the truth of public claims. Discussing his current research, Lucas Graves will examine a set of emergent practices, and an accompanying journalistic discourse, which have coalesced into a reform movement reaching to the center of the elite news media.

    IIT Congratulates the 2013 RISE Recipients

    Congratulations to the 2013 RISE and RISE Pro recipients at IIT! RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate students in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. RISE offers unique opportunities for bachelor-level students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of two–three months during the summer.

  • IIT Chicago-Kent and UIC’s “Shari’a and Halakha in America” conference to address the challenges faced by both Jewish and Muslim legal systems

    Michael J. Broyde, professor of law and a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory University, will deliver the keynote address on the first day of "Shari'a and Halakha in America," a free two-day conference co-hosted by IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law and the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

  • Rice Campus Sustainability Project IPRO

    Illinois Institute of Technology’s green initiatives have expanded beyond the Main Campus. Located in Wheaton, Illinois, the Rice Campus has taken on a new challenge to implement green practices. Susan Camasta and Blake Davis are leading IPRO 497-323: The Rice Campus Sustainability Project. The members of the student team are underway to “greenifying” the building.
