August 5, 2013The Honorable Diane P. Wood, a circuit judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, will deliver the keynote address at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law's fourth annual U.S. Supreme Court Intellectual Property Review (SCIPR) on Thursday, September 26. The one-day conference will be held at the law school. Wood will address the topic "Is It Time to Abolish the Federal Circuit's Exclusive Jurisdiction in Patent Cases?" -

IIT Purchasing to Host Vendor Showcase
August 5, 2013On Thursday, August 8 from 9:00 am–noon, National IPA will sponsor a vendor showcase in the Alumni Lounge of Hermann Hall. The attending vendors will be CDW-G (technology supplier), Office Depot (office supplies), North American (a supplier of custodial goods and Panasonic. This is the first of several showcase events planned for fiscal year ′14. -
Update: State Street Repaving Through Main Campus
August 2, 2013The Chicago Department of Transportation, which began repaving State Street on August 5, estimates a completion date of Tuesday, August 13. The work began at 26th Street and continues south to 35th Street. One lane of traffic in each direction will be available for the duration of the work. There will be intermittent construction vehicle traffic, and there may be disruptive noise during this time. -

Annual IIT/IITRI Family Picnic a Hit
July 31, 2013Hundreds of IIT/IITRI faculty, staff, and family members spent a summer afternoon outdoors at Morton Park on Main Campus for the annual university picnic, held on July 24. The weather was ideal, with temperatures in the sunny 70s. Attendees had a chance to relax, listen to music, and enjoy a lunch that featured a variety of hot sandwiches, salads, and cupcakes in flavors such as Dreamsicle, red velvet, and turtle. -
