Illinois Institute of Technology Launches Master of Data Science Program
June 14, 2013Responding to a growing need for people who can turn big data into intelligent insights, Illinois Institute of Technology has launched a new Master of Data Science (MAS DS) program for Fall 2013. The rigorous and interdisciplinary program combines high-level mathematics and computer science theory with the practical knowledge to explore data sets, gather insights, and visualize and communicate meaningful findings. -
Independence Day Holiday Schedule Clarification
June 13, 2013IIT will observe Independence Day on Thursday, July 4 as a university holiday. Due to the academic schedule, the university will be open for classes on Friday, July 5. Those staff who are not engaged in supporting classes on July 5 may, at their supervisors discretion, take the day off as a bonus day. Any staff in essential functions to support students or classes on July 5 will report to work, if instructed by their supervisor, but will be given the opportunity to take another day off during July as a bonus day. All union employees will be paid according to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. Classes on July 5 will still meet as scheduled. Offices and/or staff who support the academic needs for the July 5 classes are expected to operate as usual. -

Rebecca Wingate (M.S. CE ’12) Awarded Fulbright Fellowship
June 11, 2013The International Center is pleased to announce IIT's second Fulbright recipient in its history. Rebecca Wingate, a recent alumna who received her master's degree from IIT College of Engineering Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering last December, will be going to Hepia in Switzerland in September for her project titled "Lean Construction and Railway Infrastructure Maintenance." -
“We Are IIT” Volunteers Needed
June 11, 2013Various campus partners have worked to create a Welcome Week activity—"We Are IIT"—to help new students explore their own identities and show them the diversity that exists among the student population.
