Volunteer to Judge at the Chicago High School Ethics Bowl Regional Competition – February 4, 2023
November 15, 2022The Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions invites Illinois Tech faculty, staff, and students to volunteer at the Chicago High School Ethics Bowl Regional Competition, which will take place at Northside College Prep High School on February 4, 2023. Volunteers will help judge or moderate. We will have teams from Chicago area high schools – both public, charter, and private – competing, and it should be a day of lively discussion and debate! -

The Startup Accelerator is an Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) Program course that supports students who are interested in launching a startup. This course aims to take startup ideas to market by connecting you with experts from inside and outside of Illinois Tech, including our staff, Illinois Tech professors, industry experts, and investors. -
End-of-term Course Evaluation Survey to Launch on Monday, November 21
November 15, 2022The Fall 2022 End-of-term Course Evaluation Survey will open on Monday, November 21 and will remain open through Sunday, December 4. Instructors are asked to talk to their students about the survey and let them know that you value their feedback. Students can access the survey via a link in the email they will receive from the Center for Learning Innovation (CLI) or starting Monday, via a link found in the Tools area of Blackboard. -
Student Financial Hardship Assistance Available
November 14, 2022For students facing one-time or ongoing financial hardship, the Office of Financial Aid may be able to assist. Students with one-time unexpected expenses may apply for an emergency grant through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). This fund was established by the government at the onset of the pandemic to support students with unexpected expenses and exceptional financial need. -
Free Project Management Fundamentals Course for US Military and Veterans
November 10, 2022The Office of Community Affairs and Outreach Programs and Black Diamond Charities are offering a free project management fundamentals class to US military and veterans to help advance their civilian careers. The first of 5 classes will take place Saturday, November 12, in Galvin Tower IT Room 6C7-1 from 10:00–11:00 a.m. The course includes a certificate of completion documenting 35 hours of project management training. -

November 10, 2022This week, Illinois Tech's Stuart School of Business launched a podcast focusing on the intersection of technology and business. In the first episode, Associate Professor Weslynne Ashton discussed industrial ecology—building our industrial systems to align with the natural ecosystem and taking an all-encompassing approach to making our food systems more equitable. -
Workshop on “Climate Change in Chicago Metropolitan Area: Education, Awareness, and Actions”
November 10, 2022University and high school students and educators are invited to the Workshop on "Climate Change in Chicago Metropolitan Area: Education, Awareness, and Actions" to be held Nov. 19, 2022 from 10-5 p.m. at Illinois Tech. Assistant Professor of Chemistry Sameh Elsaidi will kick off the event with a talk titled "Climate Change in the Chicago Area." The talk is followed by a lunch and poster session of student research and then all are invited to a hands-on training about CO2 adsorbent materials. -
