Rebecca Wingate (M.S. CE ’12) Awarded Fulbright Fellowship
June 11, 2013The International Center is pleased to announce IIT's second Fulbright recipient in its history. Rebecca Wingate, a recent alumna who received her master's degree from IIT College of Engineering Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering last December, will be going to Hepia in Switzerland in September for her project titled "Lean Construction and Railway Infrastructure Maintenance." -

IIT Students Honored by Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago for 2013 EPA Campus RainWorks Challenge Win
May 17, 2013The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago issued a resolution on May 16 at its board meeting in recognition of the IIT student entry in the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Campus RainWorks Design Challenge. Students from IIT College of Architecture and the Landscape Architecture Program, IIT Armour College of Engineering and IIT Stuart School of Business, led by Studio Assistant Professor Mary Pat Mattson and Paul Anderson, were recognized for their first-place design of green infrastructure to manage stormwater on the campus of IIT. -

March 27, 2013Illinois Institute of Technology researchers Krishna Pagilla, professor of environmental engineering, Benjamin Stark, professor of biology, and graduate students Marina Arnaldos (Ph.D. ENVE ’12) and Stephanie Kunkel (BIOL) were awarded the Honor Award for University Research by the American Academy of Environmental Engineering and Scientists (AAEES) for their research, “Improving Energy Sustainability of Wastewater Treatment by Low DO Nitrification Process.” -

Engineering Professor Krishna Pagilla Named 2012 Bill Boyle Educator of the Year
March 7, 2012Environmental Engineering Professor Krishna Pagilla has been named the 2012 Bill Boyle Educator of the Year by the Central States Water Environment Association. This award is given to one educator each year in recognition of outstanding education assistance to students of any level in the study of the water environment. Pagilla will be honored on May 16, 2012 in St. Charles, Ill. at the CSWEA 85th Annual Meeting.
