Computer Science’s Xiang-Yang Li Receives NSF Grant for Cognitive Radio Networks

Successful Summer for Computer Science Group
August 29, 2012Xian-He Sun, chair and professor of the Department of Computer Science, was an invited keynote speaker at two conferences recently. Additionally over the summer, Sun and his team were awarded a three-year collaboration grant for $842,298 from the National Science Foundation for “Decoupled Execution Paradigm for Data-Intensive High-End Computing.” -
In announcing the return of ThinkChicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel pledged to keep successful tech startups in Chicago and highlighted recent IIT computer science/psychology graduate Neil Gupta, whose startup Tabule, offering an application-based classroom productivity tool, was incorporated with seed money from Catapult this month.

June 6, 2012The demand for computer science professionals continues to grow, but the numbers of women and underrepresented minorities entering the field are not keeping pace. Addressing this, Illinois Institute of Technology will offer a two-week camp to help middle-school girls to learn about and enjoy computers, June 18 - 28.
