    Film Screening with Borderless Studio: “Beyond Closure”

    The Office of Community Affairs and Outreach Programs in partnership with Borderless Studio will present Beyond Closure, a documentary film created by On the Real Film and Borderless which retraces the history of the largest mass school closures in United States’ history highlighting the intertwined issues of inequity, racism, and injustice. The film will be screened in the Schulz Auditorium located in Galvin Tower on Thursday, March 13, at 6 p.m., followed by a discussion of the film with Paola Aguirre from Borderless, as well as cast members.

    ‘Unforgivable Blackness’ Film Screening and Trolley Tour of Historic Bronzeville Sports Sites

    Join Illinois Tech’s Office of Community Affairs and Outreach Programs on Saturday, March 18, for a free screening of "Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson," which tells the story of the first African American boxer to win the most coveted title in all of the sports and his struggle to live his life as a free man in and out of the ring.

    Free Project Management Fundamentals Course for US Military and Veterans

    The Office of Community Affairs and Outreach Programs and Black Diamond Charities are offering a free project management fundamentals class to US military and veterans to help advance their civilian careers. The first of 5 classes will take place Saturday, November 12, in Galvin Tower IT Room 6C7-1 from 10:00–11:00 a.m. The course includes a certificate of completion documenting 35 hours of project management training.

    Aviation Themed Family Fun Day This Saturday

    Join us for the third event in the Family Fun series featuring AeroStar/Avion Institute at Siegel Hall, 3301 S. Dearborn Street. In age-appropriate classrooms, you and your child will learn about aviation and aerospace through age-appropriate activities, stories, and movies. Your family will also learn about the anatomy of an aircraft, the history of aviation, aviation safety, and space exploration. Faculty from Armour College of Engineering and AeroStar will co-lead each session on October 22 and October 29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
