Plan to Attend the Chicago Area SIAM Student Conference
April 2, 2013The Chicago Area SIAM Student Conference (CASSC) is the collaborative effort between applied mathematics students from IIT, Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Chicago to host an annual event connecting students in applied mathematics and related sciences to developing branches of mathematics with industrial applications in and outside of academia. This year marks the first such jointly-organized conference, which will be held on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 at the UIC East Campus (UIC Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science). It will feature three plenary speakers: Donald Barnhart (i-Cyt/Sony), Raissa D'Souza (UC Davis) and Lev Reyzin (UIC) as well as shorter talks from graduate students and a poster session showcasing the work of graduate and undergraduate students.
