‘Unforgivable Blackness’ Film Screening and Trolley Tour of Historic Bronzeville Sports Sites
March 9, 2023Join Illinois Tech’s Office of Community Affairs and Outreach Programs on Saturday, March 18, for a free screening of "Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson," which tells the story of the first African American boxer to win the most coveted title in all of the sports and his struggle to live his life as a free man in and out of the ring. -
Join the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize Awards Dinner
March 7, 2023The College of Architecture welcomes the public to the 2023 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize, a biennial ceremony recognizing the excellence of built works in the Americas. Six finalists from across the continent will showcase their projects at a symposium on March 24 at 2 p.m. at S. R. Crown Hall. A private award ceremony and dinner will follow at 7:30 p.m., where the winner will be announced. Register for the symposium and/or purchase tickets for the ceremony and dinner on the MCHAP website. -
Coretta Scott King Panel and Mixer to Be Held March 27
March 7, 2023A panel and mixer on Coretta Scott King will be held in honor of Women's History Month, recognizing the efforts of women in the professional world and utilizing their experience for Illinois Tech students. This intersectional event will cover several topics. The panel will focus on topics that Coretta Scott King advocated for and would continue to advocate for if she were still living. -
Sign Up for Greater Chicago Food Depository Day of Service
March 2, 2023Join the Office of Community Affairs for a half day of service at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which is located at 4100 W. Ann Lurie Place in Chicago. We will repack donated and purchased food into manageable sizes for distribution at food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens. -
Participate in ChiCyberCon Cybersecurity Conference
March 2, 2023ChiCyberCon, Illinois Tech's premiere cybersecurity conference, will be held Friday, March 31, 2023, at Hermann Hall and online. Conferences will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a job fair 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a reception 5–6 p.m. Anyone interested in cybersecurity can attend, and students can register for free. -
Illinois Tech CyberHawks Take 3rd Place at State Competition
February 28, 2023On Saturday, February 18, the ECE Illinois Tech CyberHawks placed 3rd at the Illinois State Qualifier of the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC). This year's team was made up of David Arnold (CPE PHD), John Ford (CPE 5th Year), Kat Stevens (ATHL 3rd Year), Elizabeth Aquino (CYBS 5th Year), Kreetha Sintawee (MSCYS), Nicholas Quigley (ATHL 3rd Year), Mohamed Trigui (CS 3rd Year), Joanna Findura (CPE 4th Year), Lucas Ferguson (CS 3rd Year), and Przemyslaw Warias(CYBS 4th Year). -

February 23, 2023The inaugural BIPOC in Biotech Conference will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2023, in Chicago in person in the West Loop. The Chicago Biomedical Consortium and P33, in partnership with the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, is holding a one-of-a-kind career and networking event for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) PhDs and postdocs in life sciences from across the Midwest. -
Volunteer Judges Sought for CPS Citywide Exhibition of Student STEM Research
February 21, 2023The 72nd Chicago Citywide Chicago Public Schools Exhibition of Student STEM Research will be held at Illinois Tech’s Hermann Hall March 16-18. Student papers will be shared virtually over the weekend of March 11, 2023, with in-person judging taking place on Friday, March 17, 2023. -
Ways to Support Those Impacted by the Earthquake in Turkey and Syria
February 9, 2023The news of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria last week has greatly impacted us all at Illinois Tech, especially members of those communities. Our hearts are with those impacted. Here are some ways to support organizations providing relief to the victims of the earthquake, among those is an Illinois Tech student-created website to facilitate donations to support front-line workers. Donations can be made through various methods, including Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, credit/debit cards, and cryptocurrency.
