    Changes to myIIT Time Sheet and Banner Finance Channels

    On Friday, March 8, 2013, several myIIT channels will be updated. The current Time Reporting channel in myIIT will be replaced with two channels, Time Reporting and Time Approval. The layout of the channels will be different, but the time sheet format will remain the same and there will be no impact on hours already entered into time sheets.

    IIT Mathematica User Group Meeting Today

    The IIT Mathematica User Group (IITMUG) will be holding its next meeting today, March 6, from 12:45–1:45 pm in E1 025. IIT has a liberal site license that permits installation of Mathematica 9 on both university-owned and faculty/student personal computers. The purpose of the IITMUG is to promote the effective use of Mathematica by sharing information, tips and techniques in an informal, cooperative and fun setting. Both experienced and novice Mathematica users are welcome, whether students, faculty or staff.

    Sodexo Hosts Job Shadow Day

    Sodexo will be hosting 13 Chicago Public Schools students at IIT today for the Pro Start Job Shadow Day. These students have expressed an interest in pursuing careers in the hospitality industry and will be matched with Sodexo employees in various departments on campus. The students will learn different aspects of the business and will experience the industry first-hand, gaining valuable work experience.

    Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions Awarded European Commission ProGReSS Grant

    The Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions has received an award of $108,669 to be the the participant for the United States in a project funded by the European Commission called “Promoting Global Responsible Research and Social and Scientific Innovation” or ProGReSS.

    Applied Mathematics Professional Master’s Program to Launch Fall 2013

    In fall 2013, IIT will launch a new professional master’s program in applied mathematics. This non-thesis master’s degree will provide applied and computational mathematics training in conjunction with teaching communication and teamwork skills demanded by today’s employers. The program offers students an exciting capstone experience solving serious, real-world problems in business and industry using modeling, statistical and data analysis, stochastic analysis and optimization techniques.
