    IPRO Day This Friday

    The IPRO Day event is the culmination of IPRO team work via exhibits and presentations. At the Summer 2012 IPRO Day, to be held from 9 am - 1 pm on Friday, July 27 in the Hermann Conference Center, ten IPRO teams will showcase and share their accomplishments. IIT faculty and staff and professionals from the Chicago area are invited to serve as judges and welcome to attend as guests.

    Mayor Emanuel, IIT President John Anderson Announce Innovation Center at IIT Main Campus (Video + Photos)

    Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) President John L. Anderson announced today that IIT is building a 100,000 square-foot Innovation Center at the university’s south side campus. The state-of-the art building will house workshops and media labs and offer students and faculty a centralized facility with a singular purpose of promoting the basic elements of innovation and transitioning new ideas into products and processes.

    Lodewijk van den Berg paused a moment before articulating the surreal sensation of working in zero gravity. “It’s very difficult to imagine if you haven’t experienced it,” he said. “All of a sudden, you’re not standing with your two legs on the ground.
