Several news outlets reported that the Cook County Circuit Court ruled in IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law’s favor in a lawsuit concerning the reporting of post-graduate employment statistics. Many other law schools around the country have faced similar suits, with the universities prevailing in all those decided so far.

November 6, 2012The IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law chapter of the Order of the Coif inducted 29 new members October 30 during award ceremonies in the Walnut Room of the Hotel Allegro in Chicago. The Order of the Coif is a national legal honor society that recognizes superior scholarship and promotes the ethical standards of the legal profession. -
The National Law Journal reports that IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law will open a solo incubator this November and talks with Dean Harold Krent about the program, which will start with seven participating graduates, who will receive office space, training, and will work with work with a law school clinician and a practicing attorney mentor.

IIT Chicago-Kent’s Intellectual Property Law Society Continues “Patent Wars” Discussion Series
October 16, 2012The Intellectual Property Law Society (IPLS) at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law will present “Patent Wars Strike Back! Apple v. Samsung: The Rise and Wrath of Design Patents.” Attorney Christopher V. Carani of McAndrews, Held & Malloy, Ltd., will be the guest speaker. The program will be held October 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the law school’s Governor Richard B. Ogilvie Auditorium, 565 West Adams Street (between Clinton and Jefferson streets) in Chicago.
