    Illinois Institute of Technology Land Acknowledgement

    As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, it is time to pause and reflect on the many gifts that we have been afforded. Although our university’s contemporary history began in 1940 with the merger of Armour Institute and Lewis Institute, Illinois Tech has recently embarked on a journey of reflecting further on our shared past. Illinois Tech invites you to join us in this journey of exploring our collective past to learn from it and better inform our futures. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee has developed our university's Land Acknowledgement statement to honor the contributions of Indigenous peoples past and present.

    The Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering presents a photo unveiling of a new inductee to the MMAE Hall of Fame, Lois Graham (M.S. ME ’49, Ph.D. ME ’59) on November 18 from 2:00 p.m. in the Rettaliata, Second Floor Atrium. The event is preceded by the Nagib and Kalpakjian Annual Lecture on Turbulence and will be followed by a reception.

    Bring your E-Waste for America Recycles Day

    Bring your E-Waste on November 15, 2022, for America Recycles Day! This event is a collaboration between the Office of Campus Energy and Sustainability and the Work Life and Engagement Committee to launch the first day of America Recycles Day, November 15, 2022, beginning at 11 am. America Recycles, also known as National Recycle Day, is a nationally-recognized day that celebrates and promotes recycling in the U.S. The Office of Campus Energy and Sustainability will collect e-waste from November 15 – 22. There are four available drop-off locations available on campus. Please drop off all your e-waste listed below at the locations provided.

    Volunteer to Judge at the Chicago High School Ethics Bowl Regional Competition – February 4, 2023

    The Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions invites Illinois Tech faculty, staff, and students to volunteer at the Chicago High School Ethics Bowl Regional Competition, which will take place at Northside College Prep High School on February 4, 2023. Volunteers will help judge or moderate. We will have teams from Chicago area high schools – both public, charter, and private – competing, and it should be a day of lively discussion and debate!

    This weekend the Office of Technology Services (OTS) will be deploying the next phase of Access Illinois Tech. On November 14, 2022, these are the primary changes you will see include: Access Illinois Tech will be your new “go-to” dashboard for most university applications and resources, All of the applications that are currently in your myIIT Portal 9-box grid (in the top-right corner of the myIIT portal) will move to the Access Illinois Tech dashboard, and your university password will be managed through Access Illinois Tech.

    Congratulations to our Student Laureate Recipient, Ahmad Muhammad!

    Each fall an outstanding senior from each of the four-year degree-granting institutions of higher learning in Illinois is awarded the Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award and thereby becomes a Student Laureate of The Lincoln Academy of Illinois. The Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, would like to congratulate Ahmad Muhammad on his selection as the Illinois Lincoln Academy Student Laureate recipient for Illinois Tech.
