Providing free admission, food and drinks, we invited the whole IIT community but limited attendance to 100 participants.

    EPA Honors IIT Landscape Architecture Studio with 1st Place in Campus RainWorks Challenge

    On Monday, April 22, Earth Day, the United States Environmental Protection Agency announces the winners of its Campus RainWorks Challenge, a new design competition created to inspire the next generation of landscape architects, planners and engineers to design and implement innovative green infrastructure systems that mitigate the impacts of urban stormwater while supporting vibrant, sustainable communities. IIT’s team, led by Studio Assistant Professor Mary Pat Mattson and Paul Anderson, was composed of students in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Environmental Management.

    Participate in the Clothesline Project

    The Clothesline Project honors women survivors as well as victims of intimate violence. Any woman who has experienced such violence, at any time in her life, is encouraged to come forward and design a shirt. Victim's families and friends are also invited to participate. For more information, please visit the Clothesline Project's website. Join Women’s Services and the Office of Campus Life during the week of April 22 if you would like to decorate a shirt for the clothesline. On April 29 from 10:00 am–4:00 pm, the clothesline will be hung in the Welcome Center for viewing. Individuals will also have another opportunity to decorate a shirt.

    Martin C. Jischke (PHYS ’63) is this year’s winner of the Alumni Medal, which honors distinguished service to the university by alumni who have displayed the qualities of the Collens Merit Award, Alumni Service Award, and Professional Achievement Award. This is the highest honor bestowed by the IIT Alumni Association.
