    The jazz tunes of a five-piece VanderCook College of Music band set an upbeat tone as university leaders welcomed students, parents, faculty, and staff to IIT at the 2012 University Convocation, held on Friday, August 17 in Hermann Hall. President John Anderson, Provost Alan Cramb, Dean of Students Katie Murphy Stetz, SGA President Kelly Lohr (MMAE 4th year), and Alumnus Jimmy Akintonde (ARCH ’95) offered new students encouragement as they begin their new lives at IIT.

  • Reducing Printing at IIT

    Reducing Printing at IIT

    Beginning this fall, free printing credits are being reduced to 250 per semester. The credits will continue to roll over between semesters until the end of the summer term when all accounts are wiped and reloaded with fresh print credits for the fall. Free print credits do not represent actual money, but if students need, they can add their own funds for additional printing.

    Bruce Watts Named Vice President of Facilities and Public Safety

    Bruce Watts has been named by Illinois Institute of Technology President John Anderson as vice president of facilities and public safety for the university. Watts will be responsible for management of the buildings and grounds as well as oversight of public safety efforts and management of security personnel at IIT's five campuses.
